About the Journal
The International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (IJABE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to advancing engineering science and technology for agriculture, biological systems, and related fields. IJABE publishes original research and critical reviews covering agricultural machinery and mechanization, precision and smart agriculture, sensors and automation, soil and water engineering, biological and food processing systems, renewable energy applications, and environmental sustainability. By integrating engineering innovation with agricultural and biological sciences, the journal promotes efficient, sustainable, and intelligent solutions to global challenges in food production, resource management, and rural development.
IJABE is jointly published by the U.S.-based Association of Overseas Chinese Agricultural, Biological and Food Engineers (AOCABFE) and the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering (CSAE), and has been indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection since 2013. According to the 2025 update of Journal Citation Reports® (JCR 2024) released by Clarivate Analytics, IJABE has an impact factor of 2.2, ranking 9th among 20 SCI-indexed agricultural engineering journals worldwide (Quartile 2).
With the rapid advancement of digital technologies and interdisciplinary research, IJABE is committed—through rigorous peer review—to serving as a leading global platform for high-quality research in agricultural and biological engineering. The journal welcomes submissions in emerging and high-impact areas such as sensing and detection technologies, advanced sensors, agricultural robotics, artificial intelligence, big data, smart agriculture, green and safe production technologies, smart deep-processing systems, autonomous driving, and unmanned farms.
We are pleased to work with our readers, authors, reviewers, editors, and professional staff to further strengthen IJABE as a forum for reporting cutting-edge scientific findings and exchanging new ideas. Guest editors and volunteers are also welcome. Comments, suggestions, and feedback may be directed to ijabe@ijabe.cn.
