IJABE AI Usage Boundary Policy
IJABE AI Usage Boundary Policy
This open-access AI Usage Boundary Policy standardizes the application of artificial intelligence tools in all manuscript submissions, peer review, editorial processing, and publication activities of the Journal. This policy applies to all authors, reviewers, and editorial staff and aims to guarantee research originality, publishing transparency, and academic integrity in accordance with international SCI publishing standards.
- Definition of AI Tools
AI tools include all generative artificial intelligence systems, large language models, intelligent writing, translation, polishing, data analysis, visualization, and coding tools used during research and manuscript preparation. Any automated algorithm-based intelligent system that assists content generation or data processing falls within the scope of this policy.
- Permitted AI Usage
The Journal allows limited, transparent, and auxiliary AI usage. Authorized applications include language polishing, grammatical correction, professional translation, reference formatting, basic data sorting, and visualization generation based on authentic experimental data. AI tools may only serve as auxiliary assistance and shall not replace independent academic research and intellectual creation.
All AI-assisted content must be manually reviewed, verified, and revised by authors. Authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy, consistency, and academic validity of all manuscript content.
- Prohibited AI Usage
Undisclosed, excessive, or integrity-violating AI usage is strictly prohibited. Authors must not use AI tools to generate complete or partial manuscript texts, including research backgrounds, core arguments, discussion interpretations and conclusions, without a valid research basis.
AI-based data fabrication, falsification, result manipulation, and citation forgery are forbidden. The use of AI to rewrite existing works for disguised plagiarism, simulate peer review comments, or mislead editorial evaluation constitutes academic misconduct.
- Mandatory AI Disclosure
All AI tool usage during research and manuscript preparation must be fully and explicitly disclosed at submission. Authors shall clearly state the AI tool name, version, usage scope, and manually verified corrections in the manuscript acknowledgment.
Undisclosed AI generation, concealed AI usage, or false declaration will result in editorial rejection, recorded misconduct, and possible submission restriction.
- Author Accountability
Authors are ultimately and solely responsible for all published content, regardless of AI-assisted involvement. Authors must eliminate algorithmic errors, logical flaws and factual inaccuracies caused by AI tools and ensure all content complies with academic ethics and research authenticity.
- AI Restrictions for Reviewers and Editors
Reviewers and editors may use AI only for auxiliary text reading and language comprehension. The use of AI to generate complete review reports, replace independent academic judgment, or produce automated editorial decisions is prohibited. All evaluation results must be manually judged and confirmed by individual reviewers and editors.
- Post-Publication Review and Correction
The Journal reserves the right to audit AI usage after publication. Any undisclosed improper AI application, data fraud or integrity violation identified post-publication will trigger a formal investigation. Corrective measures, including Expression of Concern, Correction or Retraction, will be implemented in line with international publishing ethics standards.
- Policy Implementation and Updates
This policy takes effect upon official website publication and applies to all current and future submissions. The editorial team is responsible for policy interpretation and enforcement. The Journal reserves the right to update this policy to comply with evolving international AI publishing regulations and ethical guidelines
